Sointula: A Place of Harmony

Opening June 14th, Oregon-based artists, Agnes Field, Arielle Brackett, and Kate Speranza, have come together to share their artwork in an exhibition inspired by their individual artist residencies at Arteles Creative Center in rural Finland. The show features a variety sculptural and two-dimensional mixed-media works that explore themes of sauna culture, meditation, and water.

The exhibition runs from Saturday, June 14th through Sunday, July 6th at Astoria Visual Arts in downtown Astoria, 1000 Duane St. The gallery is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11-3pm. There will be an opening reception on June 14th from 5-8pm and a closing reception on July 5th with artist talks beginning at 1pm.

Postcards from Finland

I’ve been offered a three-month residency in Finland, so I’ll be on jewelry-making hiatus from January to March 2024. I plan to focus on painting projects for that time. To help support my financial needs for the residency, I am offering a chance purchase original art postcards that I plan to make while I’m there.

For a contribution of $60, you’ll receive 3 original art postcards—1 sent each month while I’m there.

For a contribution of $25, you’ll receive 1 original art postcard during the residency period.
